Margaret Chieko Echigoshima
Margaret Chieko Echigoshima was in a law student at the University of Washington when war broke out. She and her family were incarcerated in Puyallup and then in Minidok. While in Puyallup she served as education director in Area D. She left Minidoka in October 1942 to finish her law degree at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. She graduated with a JD in 1943. While at Washington University she participated in “A Survey of Evacuee Adjustment in the St. Louis Area.”
She later moved to the Washington, DC area and worked as an attorney at various law firms and at the National Law Center.
Margaret Chieko Echigoshima married Sam Shiozawa in 1946 and had one daughter, Katherine.
Margaret Echigoshima Shiozawa died in April 12, 2000 in Bethesda, Maryland.
