Yutaka Fujikado

Yutaka Fujikado Garfield High School yearbook photoYutaka Fujikado and his family (including sister Katsuko) were incarcerated in Puyallup and Minidoka. He left Minidoka in the fall of 1943 and worked as a farm laborer in White Oak, Georgia. Fujikado enlisted the Army in 1944, trained at Camp Savage (Alabama) and graduated from the Military Intelligence School at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. He served in military intelligence until 1947.

Later photo of Yutaka FujikadoHe then returned to Seattle and resumed his education graduating with a degree in pharmacy from the University of Washington. He owned his own pharmacy, Murphy’s Pharmacy, in Seattle for many years and later worked as a pharmacist for Fred Meyer.

Yutaka Fujikado married Sueyeko (Sue) Murakami in December 1947 at the Japanese Persbyterian Church in Seattle.

Yutaka Fujikado died on August 11, 1993.
