    Canvas-Specific Use of Select Electronic Resources
    

    The answer to ‘Can I use this eBook image for my educational materials in Canvas?’ is often answered by the UW site license for the electronic resource it came from. Consequences for unauthorized use can include suspension of UW access to the electronic resource. Below are some common sources of Foundations curriculum resources clarified:

    New England Journal of Medicine (catalog link) site license terms specify:

    • Images: Yes – limited use of images and related “as permitted by United States fair use law” (Nikki consulted UW license documentation to verify)
    • No – downloads of journal articles for Canvas (Copies for course reserves prohibited: use links)
    • Yes – use Electronic Resources Link for Canvas (Distance education: & Electronic link: Permitted)
    • Yes – unlimited users (Everyone in WWAMI can access this resource at the same time)
